A part of History

1930’s – When it all began
It all started in the 1930’s when Frenc Azzopardi, Rita’s father opened his bar for The Royal British Marines. Frenc used to not only serve them drink but also cooked a local favourite for them; fresh rabbit. It is no wonder that even to this day Ta’ Rita Lapsi View proudly serves rabbits. The years went by and in 1966 Frenc Azzopardi extended the bar into a restaurant; his daughter Rita took over after he passed away. The restaurant which became known with locals as Ta’ Rita has had many patrons throughout the years, locals and foreigners alike have dined and enjoyed the views in a unique atmosphere, truly a gem of a place, hidden away it has remained a favourite with the locals as it passed down from one generation to the next.

In 2000 Marika, Rita’s niece took over the restaurant and continued to build upon what the previous generations had cemented as part of the community and the Ghar Lapsi experience. The restaurant was further expanded, the kitchen upgraded and a pizzeria added. Offering authentic traditional cuisine, Ta’ Rita Lapsi View, serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with a vast selection of wines to choose from. Whatever the time of day, diners will be doing it in style with an exceptional view of Ghar Lapsi & Filfla in a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere, something the restaurant prides itself in. The restaurant caters for everyone, be it tourists or local Maltese patrons.
